Vessel traffic has returned to normal at the port of Vizag after being suspended on September 6 due to a listing ship at one of the port’s docks.
Inward and outward movements at EQ 5, EQ 6, EQ 7, EQ 8, EQ 9, WQ 4, WQ 5 & WQ 6, which were suspended after the general cargo ship HAI DUONG 09 being loaded with steel billets started to list badly, are now taking place as usual, GAC India informed.
The 10,959 dwt vessel reportedly suffered the list due to faulty ballasting, which led to a loss of stability during cargo loading.
Media reports indicate that the ship completed the ballasting operation and moved to an anchorage.
GAC India earlier said that there were no injuries reported following the incident.
