Young sailor dies after accidental fall on seagoing

TARGET / BEVEREN -
A young sailor (19) Tuesday shortly before midnight killed after a heavy fall on the Panamanian container vessel MSC Damla.

Which was anchored to the new DP World terminal in Deurganckdok in Target. The accident happened after the boat alarm was beaten for water and oil in the hold.
"The victim is thereafter along a narrow metal stairs to the hold descended" to the circumstances, outlines labor prosecutor Jan Vermeir from Office of Dendermonde. "The stage was sixteen meters deep and very steep. Possibly he was wet because it had a thunderstorm around that hour above Waaslandhaven. The sailor has almost certainly slipped, hit his head and then fell down. "
The staircase that took the victim is rarely used. Only in special cases, such as an alarm, he is serving. The deceased sailor did not have much experience and made only a few days since part of the ship's crew.
