A cargo ship is believed to have run aground at Happisburgh today.
The Spanish vessel Muros was on course from Teeside to France when it ran into difficulty seven miles from shore in an area known as the Haisbro Sand - which has previously claimed a number of lives.
It is understood it may have become lodged on a sandbank but remains upright.
And it is hoped it can be refloated at high tide, around 8.30pm.
Happisburgh Coastwatch volunteer Janet Easter said: “It appears to be stuck.”
A coastguard spokesman confirmed they were “monitoring” an incident just off the coast at Happsisburgh but said there was no damage to the vessel and no injuries.
