ENGINEERING APPRENTICES - 2016



Key Attributes
To develop practical skills and academic learning to successfully complete the requirements of an Engineering Apprenticeship together with selected Engineering pathway(s) to qualify as a Port of Felixstowe or Harwich International Port Engineering Tradesperson.
To learn the skills expected of a qualified / trained Mechanical/Electrical Technician.
To successfully complete NVQ Level 3 qualification for selected pathways.
Draft comprehensive records of work experienced and map these to employer specification requirements.
Attend day release to develop the requirements in line with tradesperson duties.
Comply with all relevant policies, procedures and standard operating practices.

Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate will:
Possess a minimum of 4 GCSEs grade A* - C (or equivalent) in Maths, Science, English and an engineering relevant subject or possess a relevant engineering NVQ or VRO level 2.
Demonstrate enthusiasm and interest in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering.
Demonstrate to us that you have the characteristics and commitment that will make you a successful and valued member of our team.
Show evidence of recent and relevant work experience or extra curricular activities.
The Apprentice will need to attend day release at a college and will be responsible for their own travel arrangements.

In line with Industry Code of Practice, the successful applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old prior to the Apprenticeship commencing in August / September 2016.

Further Information
Monday to Friday 07:30hrs - 16:00hrs (40hrs per week).
Excellent pay scheme with incremental rises each year subject to performance.
Generous holiday allowance
